Ares Printing and Packaging showcased its E-Flute and B-Flute packaging, its environmentally sustainable initiatives, and also announced the opening of a brand new facility in Queens, New York.

Ares houses the two largest printing presses in New York State, and according to George Filippidis, the company’s president, Ares is one of only a few companies in the U.S. that manufactures single-faced E-Flute and B-Flute in any color and laminates it with a pre-printed liner to create a “litho-lam” package with maximum effect.

At HBA, Ares promoted its sustainable packaging products and processes. The company has implemented a testing system that ensures higher air quality standards and eliminates plant emissions. A waste reduction program has also been instituted along with plant energy conservation and materials down gauging to reduce the amount of post consumer waste. Ares is FSC and Rainforest Alliance certified.

Filippidis also discussed the brand new Ares facility in Flushing, NY, that is slated to open its doors by the end of 2010. The 135,000 square foot space will serve as a duplicate facility to the company’s Brooklyn location, and Ares is actively hiring employees for the new plant.
